Premier League giants lack a prolific marksmanOne currently on show in the EredivisieTeams in England said to be showing interestWHAT HAPPENED?
The north London outfit have moved back to the top of the Premier League table, with Mikel Arteta’s side showing once again that they are capable of grinding out results. Life would be made easier, though, if they had a prolific presence up top – with the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz yet to truly convince in 2023-24.

Another transfer window will swing open in January, with Dutch legend Gullit – who spent time with Feyenoord in his playing days – telling of why joining Chelsea in the race for an Eredivisie hot-shot could prove beneficial to Arteta: “I think Santiago Gimenez would be a good fit for Arsenal as Feyenoord play similar football. He'd be used to that and it'd be easier for him to fit in. Chelsea are searching for identity at the moment, and Gimenez would be arriving into a struggling team. I'd rather go to a team that knows exactly what they have to do. Of course, I hope he's the guy to give Chelsea what they need. I don't know what Chelsea are at the moment!”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mexico international Gimenez has been a revelation in the Netherlands following his 2022 move from Cruz Azul. The talented 22-year-old has hit 43 goals through 64 appearances at Feyenoord, with 20 of those efforts coming this season as he leads the Eredivisie Golden Boot race.
GOAL WHAT NEXT FOR GIMENEZ?
Gimenez is tied to a contract through to 2026, meaning that he will not come cheap, while the admiring glances that he is attracting from across Europe are also set to push his asking price up. Arsenal would be acquiring a potential star of the present and future, though, if they were to make a move, with it up to Arteta to decide whether he needs more firepower and a New Year freshening up of his attacking unit.
