According to the the Portuguese manager has expressed his desire to manage United again after being shown the door in December 2018. It is alleged that Mourinho would love a second chance at Old Trafford and shares a good relationship with United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but that might not be enough to land him a new job after being sacked by AS Roma in January.

The report adds that Mourinho is not expecting an approach from United, who are reluctant to reappoint the 61-year-old at this stage. He delivered the Europa League and Carabao Cup in his first spell at the club, along with a second-place finish in the Premier League, but was eventually sacked after a poor start to the 2018-19 season.
Ten Hag's position at United has also come under scrutiny after the team suffered their 13th Premier League defeat of the season in a humiliating 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace. The defeat compounded United's woes, leaving them eighth in the Premier League table and at risk of finishing outside the top seven for the first time since 1990.
