Prior to Thursday night’s Europa League clash against Partizan Belgrade, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a rather perplexing admission about Anthony Martial.
The Norwegian remarked that when the number nine is in a “good mood it affects other people”. And based on his performance against the Serbian side, it appeared the 23-year-old was in a fantastic frame of mind.
The France international struck a superb solo goal as he jinked past two or three Partizan defenders before toe-poking it past the goalkeeper into the far corner of the net.
And in an encouraging overall display, Martial completed two dribbles, provided one key pass and earned a fine 7.1 match rating as per Sofascore.
After seeing the £36m star’s goal-scoring performance, United fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts about their centre-forward.
Many supporters of the Manchester side hailed his well-taken goal, whilst one fan in particularly claimed that he is amongst the best strikers in the Premier League.
